Hope, Youth, & Action

Radio Rootz, People’s Production House Youth Program, invites you to their hands-on workshop.
Staying true to their mission of creating a diverse, ethical, and
independent media to bring about change, Rootz youth will discuss the
role they play in bringing about this change. In addition, participants
will get hands-on training and produce vox pops, which are simple radio
projects that highlight the voices of the people. Youth are encouraged
to attend!

Swine Flu Panic!!!

Posted on 22 May 2009 in Radio Rootz

Radio Rootz presents at YouthBridge-NY

On May 11, Radio Rootz’ Sidra and Kristal met with members from YouthBridge-NY, organization in New York City paving the way for our future generation of leaders to be ready and able to handle the conflicts that may arise.

Rootz youth discussed the power of the media, its impact, and why they believe that being critical media consumers is vital, but also being participants. Later on, YouthBridge fellows hit the streets and did some reporting of their own.

Swine Flu Panic!!!

A newly discovered flu virus is infecting people all across the world, most cases being reported in our neighboring country of Mexico. This new virus is called “swine influenza”, but to us it is known as “Swine Flu”. This new virus has caused anxiety to say the least! But, how well informed are New Yorker about this new epidemic. Listen as fellows from YouthBridge-NY Fellowship report!
