Red Hook Public Housing

The Red Hook Housing Project is home to more than 10-thousand people, making it the second largest public housing complex in NYC. To keep the buildings in good conditions, the Housing & Urban Development wants to mortgage them, a move many advocates say could lead to a serious housing crisis. Reporter Alisa Pizzaro of Red Hook Initiative filed this report about one of the thousand residents. The story first aired on WBAI 99.5FM.

A NYC School Classroom

A member of the Street Vendor Project, a group fighting for vendors’ rights, Alberto was a guest on CNPI’s radio show.
