Beatriz DeJesus

Beatriz De Jesus is currently a senior at Vanguard High School. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and moved to New York City at the age of four. Ever since She can remember she has been fascinated with traveling and learning about different cultures. Last summer she traveled to Cambodia along with classmate and friend Irene. Together they created a radio piece through Radio Rootz to inform others about the country and the trip. Traveling to South East Asia was eye opening and she learned issues that are occurring around the world. She hopes to learn more about international issue next fall in college. She will attend Lafayette College in Easton, PA thanks to the POSSE Foundation Scholarship.
