Arizona's controversial immigration law, SB 1070, goes into effect later this week. The law, which
criminalizes undocumented immigrants in the state of Arizona, mandates that
police officers verify immigration status when "reasonable suspicion"
exists that a person is undocumented. Alessandra Soler
Meetze, the Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties
Union-Arizona, spoke with CNPI reporters Christine Lewis and Rob Robinson on WBAI 99.5FM to explains some of the ramifications of the law, and its
potential impact on those presumed to be immigrants.
