With tips on preparing for the interview, setting up the interview space, and how to conduct the interview itself. Get out there and get that story!

This year, Radio Rootz has a year-long focus on identity, immigration, and representation. As part of this focus, we are looking at how our students, their voices, issues, and communities are represented in the Presidential race. Here is a 70-minute lesson plan that explores what students know about the Presidential race, the parties, and the candidates, and has them develop their own platform, campaign speech, and slogan.
Please let us know if you use it, and how it goes! It's been a big success in our classes, although we will warn you that the discussion at the start of class may go longer than the time allotted if you let it, and that might make the class spill over into a second class period. We allowed this to happen in our classes because the discussion was constructive and engaged, but you can choose to keep it tight and focused.
